With the taper spacers and the type layout that the Superspeedway is, it was the perfect formula for some boring and some dull races. Just look at the highlight reels of the races from the 2002-2006 and the races from 2008 to present (the taper spacers era). The proof is in the pudding. The concrete surface killed the racing that Indycar Series could do. The drivers that I asked in 2008 says, that if the surface was asphalt. They could have put on a better show if the surface was asphalt instead of concrete. That's why the Indycar races at Kentucky were a lot more entertaining than the races at Nashville. Enough said about the track. Hopefully we will see Nationwide Series racing at the Fairgrounds in 2012 or 2013. That would be great.
