Two Wheels w/ Updates
Two Wheels, But Countless Upgrade Options
Motorcycles may be two-wheeled vehicles, but just because they have half the wheel count of a typical car doesn’t mean it only has half the available upgrade options on the market. In fact, there’s a diverse array of motorcycle upgrade options available, so if you’re seeking out aftermarket motorcycle components and replacements that will improve either the performance or appearance of your bike, you’re in luck. Below, we’ll break down several areas where many bikes can really be improved, and what possible upgrades one should consider if looking to enhance that particular facet. That way, you can be prepared for what’s entailed in upgrading any part of your motorcycle in the near future.
Headlights
Whether you have a single headlight beam setup or a dual headlight array on your bike doesn’t matter. Any motorcycle can benefit from improved on-road lighting, for two reasons in particular. For one, whether your bike has one headlight or two, dual lights tend to be placed close together anyway, meaning it’s difficult to get great peripheral vision on a bike at night. Second, poor lighting on bikes also makes it difficult for other drivers to see you, and it’s never good when a driver assumes that a bike with one headlight is just a car with a blown-out headlight. With motorcycle HIDs, brightness won’t be an issue. Up to 3x brighter than standard halogens, HIDs illuminate the road much farther and much wider as well, so your nighttime peripheral vision should also be improved.
Seating
Bikers are people of all shapes and sizes, so it’s quite the travesty that motorcycle seats tend to be small and unforgiving. If you need better back support and aren’t getting it on your bike’s seat, you can upgrade to a seat with built-in back support. Or if you need a wider seating radius or perhaps even a more comfortable seat, there are larger sized seats, as well as seat cushions and covers, available. Riding a motorcycle should be a freeing experience, not an uncomfortable one, after all.
Body Upgrades
Motorcycles can often take quite a beating on everything from back roads to major interstate highways. If the exterior paneling on your vehicle’s starting to look a little bruised and a simple paint job won’t hide that fact, you can score some aftermarket replacement body panels to fix any issue. Scraped off paint and body dents don’t do the appearance of a bike any favors, so if you notice them, you’ll want to get those issues sorted out as soon as possible, for the sake of both your bike’s aesthetic appeal, as well as its future resale value.
